Volunteering in an NGO can give the volunteer an opportunity to engage directly in the area of human rights through advocacy and documentation. The human rights based NGO’s are striving to increase awareness and knowledge of fundamental human rights issues such as:
- Torture and organized violence
- Women’s rights
- Access to legal aid
Volunteering in a human rights organization combines office research and field documentation as well as conferences and the hosting of local events raising awareness of democracy and human rights.
Volunteers are required to have relevant educational background in sociology, anthropology, law studies, social science or related subjects or alternatively experience from a human rights organization.
+18 and no specific age-requirements beyond that. The selection of candidates depends on educational and professional qualifications.
